There was mixed fortunes for the two Clare teams competing in the Munster camogie championships this weekend.

Scariff/Ogonnelloe are through to the provincial senior final against Tipperary’s Drom & Inch, after a 4-8 to 1-12 victory over Limerick’s Newcastlewest on Saturday.

Three first half goals from Mairead Scanlon, Alva Rodgers and Aoife Power set them up at home before Marian Rodgers sealed it after the break.

Manager Jim Minogue acknowledges to Clare FM’s Derek Dormer that playing in Ogonnelloe was an advantage.

But St. Joseph’s Doora/Barefield’s hopes of junior silverware were ended the same day.

Kerry’s Clanmaurice overturned an interval deficit to run out 2-11 to 1-6 victors in the final in Newport.
