Breckan’s Triple Goal Threat Sends The Town Into Relegation Battle

Donie Garrihy’s Men will head for the quarter finals of the Clare Senior Football Championship for a second successive year following a blitz of second half goals culminating in a seven point victory over their West Coast rivals.

The fifteen time champions and most recently of 2019 held a two point advantage at the break in what was a must win game for St.Joseph’s Miltown in order to avoid the relegation battle.

However a flurry of second half goals beginning with a Jamie Stack penalty on forty minutes followed by a Rowan Danagher strike on fifty-five minutes left St.Breckans  in a commanding position.

The icing on the cake would come in the sixth and final minute of additional time when Clare Senior Panelist Alan Sweeney delivered a rocket to the roof of Sean Ó Brien’s net to secure a famous victory for the combined forces of Lisdoonvarna, Kilshanny, Doolin & Toovahera.

It finished in Ennistymon, St Breckans 3-07 to St.Joseph’s Miltown Malbay 0-09
