GAA Rule Scoring Difference As Tiebreaker As Banner Promotion Push Culminates

The GAA has confirmed that overall scoring difference will be used in the event of Clare, Kildare and Offaly finishing level on points at the end of the Division Three National Football League campaign.

Clare’s win over Laois coupled with Offaly’s victory against Kildare means all three teams could end up tied on ten points at the end of the campaign.

The Banner host Offaly next Sunday afternoon, and need to win by a margin of 11 points or more in order to gain promotion, provided Kildare beat Antrim in Newbridge.

Should Kildare fail to win that game, then a Clare win by any margin will be enough for promotion.
