GAA Central Council reject Clare motion to end SKY deal

The Central Council of the GAA has rejected Clare's proposal seeking to stop the award of exclusive coverage of championship games to Sky Sports in the next media rights contract.

The proposals were among several matters that had been referred to Council following the report of the Hurling 2020 committee and from Congress.

Croke Park has also agreed to proceed with the appointment of a Director of Hurling and also to create a blueprint for all counties to follow in an effort to develop hurling.
