Clare camogie have been boosted with the announcement of 175 thousand euro in funding to help develop it’s new grounds in Doora.
Fr. McNamara Park will be officially opened by President Michael D. Higgins at the end of this month, with Clare also hosting a number of shinty internationals and a parade of clubs through the streets of Ennis on the bank holiday weekend.
The Department of the Environment has now signed off on the camogie board’s funding application, which will be used to upgrade facilities at the site.
Chairperson of the Clare camogie board Orla Considine says the money and the new ground will help boost the sport here in the count.
