Clare have picked up their first away win in the National Football League since 2016.
The Banner came away from Newry with a 1-12 to 1-10 win over Down in Pairc Elser with Sean O’Donoghue finding the back of the net inside the opening 32 seconds.
The result leaves Clare on 4 points in the league table which moves them outside the relegation zone with three rounds left to play.
