Just under 2,000 people watched on as Diarmaid Cahill hit the back of the CBC goal in the 12th minute to give Flannans a strong early lead.

They held four points over their Cork opposition going into half time, although CBC managed to pull that back for a short time as Jack Cahalane hit several frees over.

They missed a number of goal chances which cost them as Flannans extended their lead to six points towards the end of the second half.

CBC won a penalty six minutes into injury time, which Cahalane duly buried, but it merely dented Flannan’s strong lead as the final whistle went after the next puck of the ball.

Final score in Mallow was Flannans 1-15, CBC Cork 1-12.
