Five Clare players have been named on the Munster Panel for this week’s Railway Cup action.
Lissycasey’s Aaron Griffin, Kildysart’s Emmet McMahon, Cooraclare’s Brian McNamara, St.Joseph’s Miltown Malbay’s Eoin Cleary and St.Breckan’s Alan Sweeney are all included on the 30-man squad.
Munster will get their campaign underway in Croke Park tomorrow against Ulster with throw in at 8pm.
This year’s interprovincial competition will be used to trial the new proposals brought forward by the Football Review Committee, of which former Clare boss Colm Collins is a member.
The new rules include one v one throw-ins, solo and go frees, 4-point goals, a 2-point zone, a guarantee of at least 3 players in the attacking part of the field and that the ball cannot be passed back to the goalkeeper before the halfway line.
