Louth have confirmed that Peter Fitzpatrick is to remain in charge of the county’s senior footballers for next season.
Fitzpatrick is to see out the third year of his three-year term following a review at tonight’s County Board meeting.
The TD is hugely popular with Louth supporters after taking the Wee County to the Leinster final in his first year in charge, but this year’s disappointing championship defeats to Carlow and Meath had raised concerns that he was struggling to combine the two jobs.
A spokesperson for the Louth County Board has confirmed that the Management Committee recommended that Fitzpatrick remain in charge of the team. The decision was debated by delegates, but a vote on the matter wasn’t required.
