Fitzgerald’s One Match Ban Upheld By Central Appeals Committee

Clare’s David Fitzgerald has seen his one match ban upheld by the Central Appeals Committee.

The Inagh-Kilnamona man was shown a straight red card in Clare’s final National League tie against Cork.

The Central Hearings Committee upheld the referees report which cited Fitzgerald for “striking with hand with minimum force”, with the Central Appeals Committee last night ruling in favour of the ban being upheld.

Clare have the option of taking the case to the DRA, but it’s likely Fitzgerald will now be missing for the Banners opening Munster hurling championship tie against Tipperary on April 23rd.
