Davy Fitzgerald's side beat IT Carlow yesterday to qualify for the last four, and are scheduled to take on Brian Lohan's UL on Friday.

However, speaking after yesterday's game, Fitzgerald said the lack of a proper break between the matches mean his players wouldn't get to fully recover.

Five Clare players lined out for Fitzgerald's side in their 1-15 to 0-14 win over IT Carlow – David Reidy of Eire Óg top-scored with 1-8.

Last night Waterford IT eased past DIT 1-18 to 1-7 to book their place in the final's weekend.

Fitzgerald's request to postpone his team's next game means this weekend’s opening round of fixtures in the Clare U21A hurling championship are also in doubt.

It's expected that the CCC of Clare GAA will meet again today to decide which fixtures can go ahead.
