Clare recorded their first win of the national hurling league on Sunday with an 0-18 to 1-13 win over Galway in Ennis.
Clare led at the break by 0-12 to 0-08 and held on for the win despite conceding a second half goal to Joe Canning and severe Galway pressure in the final minutes.

The win is the county’s first in the top tier of league hurling since 2008 and Clare manager Davy Fitzgerald was pleased with the manner of the victory :
Also in Division 1A , Tipperary beat Kilkenny by 2-17 to 1-19 at Semple Stadium.
Waterford and Cork shared the spoils in Dungarvan – it finished Waterford 15 points, Cork 1-12
