Clare Senior Hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald has announced his side to face Kilkenny in the crucial Allianz National Hurling League relegation playoff.
Number thirteen is left vacant to A.N. OTHAIR as Fitzgerald makes no less than four direct switches to the Clare lineup. Ballyea’s Paul Flanagan is ruled out with an Achilles injury and he is replaced at corner-back by Domhnall O’Donovan. In the centre of the park, Patrick O’Connor returns following a shoulder injury and Sixmilebridge man Seadna Morey makes way. Up front Aaron Cunningham loses out to David Reidy, while Conor McGrath is not named in the Clare team.
Cian Dillon and Tony Kelly have recovered from illness during the week and they will start at corner-back and centre-forward respectively. Clonlara’s Colm Galvin was a doubt for the clash with a slight injury worry but he has been given the all-clear to start. His clubmates Darach Honan and Cathal ‘Tots’ O’Connell will be vying for the number thirteen jersey along with Bobby Duggan and Conor McGrath.
The Clare Hurling Supporters Club are rallying on the Clare troops to travel to Nowlan Park to support the team as they attempt to cause an upset. As always Clare FM are with the team every step of the way with Syl O’Connor and Tommy Guilfoyle bringing the action in association with Matt Waters Clare Fruit and Veg Market and Donie O’Keeffe Champion Meats Turnpike Road Ennis.
