Fitzgerald Holds Faith With Clare Team

Davy Fitzgerald has held faith with his team selection for tomorrows All Ireland final against Cork.

The same fifteen that started in the semi final win over Limerick will line out at 3:30 in Croke Park tomorrow.

There is one change to the panel, with Under 21 Captain Paul Flanagan named on the bench in place of the injured Aaron Cunningham.

All Ireland winning Clare Captain Anthony Daly says this selection comes as no surprise, with Davy’s tactics working so well in the last few games.

Former Cork All Star Tomas Mulcahy rejects the idea that Brian Murphy will be completely focused on man marking Tony Kelly.

The bride Rovers defender is just back from injury, but in his last game in the Rebel jersey it was that exact role he played in Corks Munster semi final win over the Banner County.

Mulcahy has described Murphy as a versatile defender and says its not all about marking Ballyeas Tony Kelly as Clare have other players who may stand up and be counted on this occasion.

All Ireland winning manager with Galway Cyril Farrell has described Clare as his "Dark horse" since early in the 2013 Championship.

Farrell works along Davy Fitzgerald in managing LIT teams, and admits his insight into the preparation being done over the last two season’s edges him to back the banner.

Meanwhile, Tipperary Manager Eamon O’Shea says the goal scoring potential of Clare is what sets them apart from Cork.

It was missed goal opportunities that marked the Munster semi final loss to the rebels in June.

But O’Shea has praised the threat of the Clare full forward line of Darach Honan and Conor McGrath and believes if goals come for Clare on Sunday they will have the edge.
