Clare boss Mark Fitzgerald is praising the impact of their bench after the Banner edged a dramatic tussle with Offaly in the National Football League

The Faithful County led by nine points with 20 minutes to play in Tullamore, but Clare outscored their hosts by 2-6 to 0-2 in the closing stages to clinch victory by the minimum.

Substitutes Cormac Murray and Diarmuid O’Donnell linked up for the Kildysart man to fire home Clare’s second goal in injury time, with Ciaran Downes dispatching a penalty which had been won by half-time sub Einne O’Connor to spark the comeback.
