Fitzgerald To Have Case Against One Match Ban Heard By Central Appeals Committee Later

David Fitzgerald is set to have his case against a proposed one match ban heard by the Central Appeals Committee this evening.

The 2022 All Star was shown a straight red card during the Banner’s final National League tie with Cork, after an incident involving Robert Downey.

Referee Thomas Walsh clarified the offence as “striking with hand, with minimal force”, and that charge was upheld by the Central Hearings Committee.

Should the suspension be upheld, it would rule the Inagh-Kilnamona man out of Clare’s opening Munster championship tie with Tipperary on April 23rd.
