Clare Manager Davy Fitzgerald says his side will battle against Kilkenny in their Allianz Hurling League Opener this Sunday, but overall his side will do well to retain their Division 1A status.
The weather continues to influence much of the talk around this fixture and whether it will be played, Cusack Park continues to be monitored, and a County Board Spokesperson has told Clare FM Sport that they are making every effort to ensure the game goes ahead at the county grounds.
Meanwhile both sides continue their preparations with training tonight, after which both managers are expected to name their starting fifteens.
Fitzgerald knows their league campaign will mean tough days out against every opposition, as they take on the All Ireland champions.
But looking at the bigger picture the Sixmilebridge man says he has faith his side will work hard and improve as the year goes on.
