Defending champions Cratloe have suffered their first loss in the Clare Senior Championship since 2012.
Cooraclare stunned them with a one point win, 1-9 to 1-8 the final score.
Colm Collins side got a dream start with a goal from Cathal McInerney inside the opening few minutes, but the Sky Blues hit back with their own green flag from Thomas Downes midway through the half.
After an even opening 30 minutes, the sides went level at 1-5 a piece.
A battling second half display saw Cooraclare stretch two points clear with time running out, before the champions reeled them in to level the game once more.
Rory Donnelly was the hero with a brilliant winning point to put his side safely into the last eight, while Cratloe must now enter the playoff round.

Miltown booked their spot in the last eight for the second year running with a 0-11 to 0-9 win over Ennistymon.
In what a closely contested affair, the North Clare Magpies enjoyed supremacy early on, and led by 0-4 to 0-1 after 10 minutes.
Miltown responded well and levelled it at 0-5 each before two late Ennistymon scores saw them two ahead at the break.
The 2013 intermediate champions reeled in their neighbours once more in the second period, and the game was level with just 10 minutes to play at 0-8 each.
Led by county star Eoin Cleary, who finished with 0-6 to his name, Miltown finished the stronger to take their second championship win and a place in the quarter finals.
Ennistymon will now be in the draw for the playoff round.

The 18 times champions Doonbeg will face a relegation scrap after they were well beaten by Kilkee in the losers round.
The seasiders dominated large parts of the game, and got off to a flyer when Michael O'Shea netted from the penalty spot after Evan Garvey was fouled.
The Magpies responded well and at half time the Blues were just one to to the good, 1-5 to 0-7.
O'Shea was outstanding throughout and he kept Doonbeg at bay in a sweeper role, with just one point conceded by the winners after the restart.
Kilkee outscored them by 0-5 to 0-1 in the final 30 minutes to clinch a 1-10 to 0-8 win, and with it, a place in the playoff round.
Doonbeg now face a relegation semi final in two weeks time.

Kilmurry eased past Shannon Gaels with a 24 point win on a 1-25 to 0-4 scoreline.
The Bricks lead by 0-12 to 0-2 at the break after a dominant opening half display when they never really had to come out of first gear.
Michael O'Dwyer netted from the penalty spot midway through the second period, putting the icing on the cake.
They now enter the playoff round, while the Gaels join Doonbeg, Eire Óg and Wolfe Tones in the relegation scrap.
