Further details of the €2.3 million project were unveiled at last night's county board meeting, including that Clare GAA have been allocated a grant of €700,000 towards the redevelopment of the County Grounds from Central and Munster Council, though a loan of €800.000 will also be required.

Head of the Finance Committee Michael Curtin outlined to delegates that the repayments on this loan over a 10-year period would total an annual repayment of €108,000.

Chairman Michael McDonagh told the meeting this would mean an average payment per club of €1,000 per year for the duration of the loan.

A further meeting will be held next week to finalise the details of these repayments, when the board will then seek the approval of the clubs to apply for the loan.

Mr McDonagh also informed delegates that he's hopeful the Centre of Excellence in Caherlohan will be completed early in 2015.
