The organisation has released a statement on their website confirming that Ireland and a number of other nations have been issued fines for wearing shirts carrying symbols that can be interpreted as political.
FIFA has also fined England and Scotland for wearing poppies on their shirts during the football qualifier at Wembley Stadium last month.
