Ferguson to step down as Manchester United Manager

It’s the end of an era for Manchester United fans with the announcement earlier that Sir Alex Ferguson is to retire at the end of the season.

The 71-year-old Scot – who’s won 38 trophies in his time at Old Trafford –  will become a director and ambassador after 26 years in charge of the club.

During his tenure, the club has won 13 league titles, 5 FA Cups and 2 Champions League crowns.

His last match will be United’s final Premier League game of the season against West Brom a week on Sunday,

Everton boss David Moyes is the bookies’ favourite to succeed him while Ex-Chelsea and current Real Madrid Chief Jose Mourinho is also a contender.
