Fahy Hails Banner Battle Despite Rebel Loss In Munster U20 Hurling Championship

Clare’s U20 hurling manager admits Cork took their opportunity to hurt his side when they were reduced to 14 men in their Munster championship showdown.

The Banner were six points clear by the 25th minute of the contest when Ronan Keane was shown a straight red card for an off the ball incident.

Goals either side of half time saw the Rebels go seven points clear in the final quarter, and while a late James Organ goal cut the gap to three, it was the home side in Pairc ui Chaoimh who finished well to record a 2-22 to 1-19 victory.

Clare boss Terence Fahy says his side showed great bravery to continue the fight, but the efforts while being a man down just proved a step too far.
