Ballyea’s manager says they’re expecting a ‘dog fight’ in the Clare Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Final at the weekend.

The Black and Amber take on Kilmaley at Cusack Park on Saturday in their eighth successive quarter final appearance.

Throw in is at 6.30.

Kevin Sheehan says both sides have it in their locker to make the clash a high scoring affair.

However, he says the weather may also prove a factor, and his men will have to take Kilmaley’s forward line seriously.

Before that, reigning county champions Sixmilebridge take on last year’s Intermediate champions Broadford looking to defend their crown.

The Bridge manager Tim Crowe says his side on their guard against what he says are an improving Broadford side.

Sixmilebridge got past Whitegate in the last round, with Broadford having two points to spare against Clonlara.

Crowe says he’s expecting a 50-50 contest and a tough encounter.

Both games in Saturday’s double header will be broadcast live on Clare FM, with our Super Hurling weekend in association with Blossoms on the Go Garden Centre, Ennis.
