Double All Ireland winner Anthony Daly feels it's a move that could pay huge dividends for Clare.
Also joining the set up for the coming year is strength and conditioning coach Jimmy Payne.
The Waterford native has worked with manager Davy Fitzgerald during his time in charge of the Deise.
Broadford's Aongus O'Brien has also been confirmed as a coach for the coming year.
