Ennis Town A booked their place in the Clare Cup final with a 2-1 win over Avenue United A this evening.

It was Avenue who went ahead through a penalty in the 5th minute, converted by their captain David Russell.

However Stephen Hickey equalised in the 75th minute for the premier league leaders.

The derby looked to be going to extra time under lights at the county grounds, before Hickey grabbed the winner in the dying minutes.

Ennis await the winners of the other semi final as Newmarket Celtic A and West Clare FC contest the other last four tie at the County Grounds on Sunday morning in an 11 o'clock kick off.

Newmarket will probably have to plan without Oscar Traynor Striker Alan Brigdale who looked to have picked up a bad shoulder injury in Crusheens Senior Hurling championship win over Sixmilebridge.
