An Ennis man preparing to compete in the 100 kilometre World Championships says the race will be all about the final position rather than the time achieved.

Ultra marathon runner Keith Whyte will begin the gruelling event in Doha, Qatar at 3pm Irish time this afternoon, with over 200 competitors from 39 countries in the field.
Whyte is ranked 33rd of those taking part, and says the tactics of the race will be important as temperatures are expected to hit over 30 degrees celsius.
