Ennis native Ben Lyne looks set to represent Ireland at international level after a contest developed over which national side he’d choose to play for.
The Manchester United youngster, who played for Éire Óg growing up, was called up to both the Irish and English u16 squads this week.

However, he has since pulled out of the England camp and remains a part of the Irish squad to face Wales.
Lyne has already represented Ireland at underage level and scored on his international debuts for both the u15 and u16 sides.
