Duggan Relishes Clare Senior Debut

Clarecastle’s Bobby Duggan says there’s great momentum in Clare hurling following last years All Ireland success.

Yesterday’s Waterford Crystal Cup Quarter final marked the first competitive game for the All Ireland Champions, but also a debut in the Clare senior jersey for several players drafted into the panel by Davy Fitzgerald and his selectors.

Duggan hit 12 points in the banners 1-14 to 0-11 win over Limerick with 8 points from placed balls, while Eire Og’s David Reidy goaled on his debut with the first score of 2014. Killian Ryan of Ruan added a point, as did Clonlara’s Cathal O’Connell from centre forward.

Fitzgerald is expected to send out another experimental side in next Sundays Semi final against UCC, that game now confirmed for Sixmilebridge at 2 o’clock.
