On the pitch, the semi-finals of the Senior Football championship will see Lissycasey take on Doonbeg/Cooraclare/Clondegad, while Eire Og will meet the winner of the quarter final between Cratloe and Kilrush.

In Hurling, Newmarket on Fergus will take on Ballyea, and Clonlara meet Sixmilebridge, but the fixtures meeting to decide this weekend’s games has been put on hold until this evening as Clonlara have requested that the semi-finals be delayed for another week.

Clonlara manager Donal Madden explained to delegates that Domhnall O’Donovan will be out of the country on work this weekend, and that they don’t wish to play without him.

It was explained that the work trip has been postponed three times because of Clare’s run in the All Ireland Championship.

The County board have also made an application to the Munster Council to get a one week extension for the Clare hurling championship to be finished in time to participate in the provincial championship – a decision on that is expected later.
