Cooraclare exacted revenge for last years semi final defeat when they overcame the champions by 1-9 to 1-8 after a late late point from Rory Donnelly.
That result puts the west Clare side into the last eight.
Joining them in the quarter finals are Miltown after they beat Ennistymon 0-11 to 0-9, Eoin Cleary with 0-6 for his side there.
Also safely through to the last eight are Clondegad after they eased passed O'Currys, and Kilrush who have 1-5 from Gearoid O'Brien to thank for their defeat of St Breckans.

Kilkee consigned Doonbeg to the relegation scrap with a five point win, while Eire Óg are also in danger of the drop after losing against Lissycasey.
It means going into the hat for the playoff round this evening are Cratloe, Kilmurry, Lissycasey, Doora/Barefield, Kilkee, O'Currys, St Breckans and Ennistymon.
The relegation battle will be between Doonbeg, Eire Óg, Wolfe Tones and Shannon Gaels.
