Draw for Senior Hurling Championship

Newmarket on Fergus will begin the defence of their county senior hurling title against Kilmaley.

The draw for the 2013 championship was made at the Clare County Board meeting in Ennis last night and will see a clash of semi-finalists from 2012 Cratloe and Inagh- Kilnamona in Round One.

Group one of the county senior hurling championship will pit Newmarket, Kilmaley,Tulla and Tubber against each other in the race for Canon Hamilton in 2013.

Group two sees Cratloe, Inagh Kilnamona, St Joseph’s and Crusheen battle it out for a place in the q-finals while in group three Clonlara, Clooney Quin Clarecastle and Sixmilebridge will face each other during the course of the summer.

The senior b championship draw pits 2012 intermediate champions Ruan in group one along with O Callaghan’s Mills, Smith O Brien’s and Eire Og while Group two has Scariff,Wolfe Tones Broadford and Ballyea all in action.

The Intermediate championship draw also took place last evening:

Group one sees Corofin, Ennistymon Sixmilebridge and Whitegate

Group two is Clarecastle, Meelick, Newmarket on Fergus and Killanena and group three is Parteen,Feakle Ogonnelloe and Crusheen.

The championship gets underway on the weekend of the 18th and 19th of May.
