Down with nothing to lose in National hurling league opener to Clare

Clare senior hurling side has a youthful look to it for the opening round of the national hurling league which begins this weekend as Clare take on Down in Cusack park.

Ger O Loughlin has included six of the team which won last years All Ireland U21 hurling title including  Cian Dillion at full back,Domhnall O Donovan  at wing back,Nicky O Connell in midfield while Sean Collins joins John Conlon in the half forward line with Darach Honan starting at number 13.

Clare last played Down in 2007 when they came out the right side of a 3-25 to 1-13 victory  and Down captain Sean Ennis says his side are coming down to Clare with nothing to lose:
