Double Whammy For Cork As Seniors Overcome Clare

Cork have been crowned Munster Senior Hurling Champions after a high-paced encounter in Semple Stadium.

A Tony Kelly penalty in the middle of the first half went a few inches too high to deny Clare an early goal, and was followed by a fifteen minute scoreless stint for the Banner.

It was to be a high number of wides which cost Clare as frequent long-distance shots went to the left or right of the bar.

A 54th minute goal from Conor McGrath was a vital score to keep Clare in the game – but the game played out with each side retaliating for the point before.

Final score saw Cork 1-25 to Clare’s 1-20.

Clare now progress to the All Ireland quarter final in two weeks.
