Doonbeg were the winners of the first game of the 2017 Clare Senior Football Championship this afternoon.
Brian Shanahan’s side met St Joseph’s Miltown in Kilmihil at 4pm, and won the game on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-11.
The half-time score saw Doonbeg leading 1-8 to 0-6 but a late second-half surge from Miltown reduced the gap to two points.
In the end Shane Ryan’s goal proved crucial to give the Magpies the win.
