Doonbeg ladies win intermediate title

Doonbeg claimed the Armada Hotel Intermediate Championship title last evening when they defeated St. Josephs, Miltown on a  final score of 3-11 to 1-3 at rain and windswept Quilty.

The final scoreline is an unfair reflection on Miltown who trailed by a point at half time and by four as the match went into injury time when the score was 10 points to 1-3.

Injury time goals two from Eimear Considine and one from her sister Ailish sealed the win for the magpies who will now go on to play the Limerick winners in the Munster Intermediate Club quarter final on September 15th.

After the match Alan Copley chairperson of the Clare Ladies Football Board presented the cup to team captain Linda Russell and Sarah Cahill while Frank Minogue on behalf of the Armada Hotel presented the player of the match award to the games top scorer Ailish Considine.
