Doonbeg manager Brian Shanahan is praising his sides battling qualities after they saved their championship season in the TUS senior football championship.
A two point win over Kilmihil saw the Magpies secure third place in the Group Two standings, meaning they will contest the preliminary quarter final.
Miltown will be their opponents in that game, with the game set for a 5pm start on Saturday August 30th in Kilmihil.
Shanahan says they dug deep when it mattered, including goals at vital stages of the game.
Meanwhile Lissycasey manager Aidan “Horse” Moloney feels his side will hit the quarter finals with a good deal of positive form in the book.
Cillian Rouine’s late score saw Ennistymon and Lissycasey share the spoils in the final group game, with both sides going straight through to the last eight.
Lissycasey will be in the seeded bowl for the draw having topped the group, but Moloney says its important they don’t get carried away with that.
