There may still be just over a week remaining in what has been a remarkable 2013 for Clare hurling, but the captain of the county’s All-Ireland winning seniors says attention is already turning to next year.

Patrick Donnellan and his team-mates have had a hectic few weeks since lifting the Liam McCarthy, bringing the cup on a tour of the county while at the same time scooping honours such as a clutch of All-Stars and the overall Team of the Year award at the RTE Sports Awards on Saturday night.
Donnellan says they were surprised but honoured to scoop that particular trophy, at the latest in a series of end of year functions but he admits they’re already looking forward to 2014.
