Credit must go to the Munster Player Of The Year during this period, as Doireann Murphy’s heroics in the Banner goalmouth,  at least gave Clare an outside chance of turning the situation around.

Clare’s fortunes went from bad to worse at the end of the first half as corner-back Ciara Grogan received her marching orders following a second bookable offence as the sides departed for the dressing rooms at 0-14 to 0-00.

The Banner issued a more spirited display in the second period with contributions from Lorna McNamara and Orlaith Duggan adding some respectability to the score line , however a goal for Caoimhe Maher on 43 minutes put the icing on the cake for Tipperary and the final nail in the coffin for Clare.

As it finished on a full time score of Tipperary 1-20 to Clare 0-07 in the Ragg.

John Carmody’s charges will now be hoping to finish their Division 1A campaign on a high when they face Dublin in Cusack Park on February 26th.
