Defending Champions On Course To Retain Clare Hurling Title

Newmarket-on-Fergus will take on Sixmilebridge in the Clare Senior Hurling Final.

Sixmilebridge booked their place in the decider on Saturday, with a goal just before half-time crucial in their 1-11 to 0-11 win over Clonlara.

Newmarket-on-Fergus secured the win in the second semi-final against Ballyea in Clarecastle yesterday.

It was a 5 point victory for the defending champions, 0-15 to 1-07. Following their Intermediate Final win over Feakle on Saturday – Whitegate were back in Munster club action yesterday.

They drew against Youghal of Cork in Sixmilebridge, 0-18 apiece in their semi-final.

Midleton won the Cork Senior Hurling Final. They beat Sarsfields by 2-15 to 2-13 at Pairc Ui Chaoimh and will face the Clare champions in the provincial competition.
