Mixed conditions have greeted patrons here at Dromoland today, with early morning sunshine giving way to scattered showers.

It hasn’t dampened spirits though, with a steady flow of spectators coming through the gates for Day Two’s action.

Solheim Cup star and home favourite Leona Maguire is the player drawing the biggest crowds on course.

Clare’s Aideen Walsh is just getting her second round underway, having posted an opening round of one under par on her debut appearance.

The Ennis based school teacher says having local support was a great boost, and is confident she can build on her opening showing to stay in contention for the weekend.

Event organisers say tickets sales are strongest for Saturday and Sunday with hopes high there will be plenty local flavour in the shake up coming down the home straight.
