The Eire Og man left the senior hurling squad in a cloud of controversy in recent weeks, after saying he had felt "humiliated" at the way he was punished by management after being found to have breached team disciplinary guidelines.
Clonlara's Nicky O'Connell also left at the same time, but this week he has returned to the county hurling panel while now O'Halloran has thrown his lot in with Colm Collins' squad who are preparing for next month's Championship opener against Limerick.
O'Halloran was part of the Eire Og sides that reached last year's Clare Senior Football Final.
