Davy Fitzgerald Names His Side For Tomorrow’s Munster Hurling League Opener

Clare hurling boss Davy Fitzgerald has named his first team of the new year for tomorrows Munster Hurling League opener against Cork.

There are two new faces among the starting 15, while a new captain leads the team out.

Newmarket's Eoin O'Brien makes his senior debut at corner back, with Pat O'Connor and Paul Flanagan completing the full back line.

Conor Ryan lines out at number six, with Jack Browne and Gearoid O'Connell either side of him.

Colm Galvin starts at midfield alongside Shane Golden.

Ballyea's Tony Kelly captains the side from centre forward, with David Reidy and Peter Duggan on the wings.

Inagh/Kilnamona's David Fitzgerald makes his first appearance at corner forward, with John Conlon and Darach Honan joining him in the full forward line.

New Clare selector Donal Óg Cusack also makes his debut against his native county.

The game gets underway in Sixmilebridge tomorrow afternoon from 2pm.

Meanwhile, football boss Colm Collins is expected to finalise his side tomorrow for the McGrath Cup opener against Tipperary.

Clare take on the Premier in Miltown tomorrow afternoon, making their first appearance in the competition since 2013.

That one is also underway at 2pm
