Staying with Football and the Cusack Cup is due to begin on February 20th with round two taking place a week later.

Nine teams will compete in Division One this year after Liscannor successfully won an appeal to the Munster Council to remain in the top-tier, while Lissycasey’s request to be promoted to Division 2 from which they were relegated last year was granted by a majority of 18 votes to 12.

That means there are nine teams in the Cusack Cup and eight in the Garry cup.  Three teams will be relegated form the top two divisions, with 2 promoted in the coming season.

The ‘three-down’ system in place this year will only be in operation for one season.

The Clare cup begins on March 27th with rounds two and three played in the following weeks.

The U-21 hurling is due to begin in March while the U-21 football begins on at the end of June.
