Date for implementation of new GAA rules pushed back

It's been confirmed that the new rules voted for at congress including the one on one penalties and the advantage rule in hurling will not come into play until April 11th.

Normally new rules kick in thirty days after congress however the central council have the right to delay their implementation

The final wording of the revised playing rules will come before Central Council for approval on 28 March and the association says it's vital that players and referees have an opportunity to familiarise themselves with changes in playing rules before they become operative.
