The epic game was decided in extra time as the Limerick champions, trained by former Clare boss Ger Sparrow O'Loughlin, made the most of the added period to win by 1-32 to 3-18.

Cratloe's Martin Ogie Murphy was their hero in normal time as his long range effort at the death saw the sides finish level, but Kilmallock then outscored them 0-11 to 0-3 in extra time.

Elsewhere, Ballyhale Shamrocks' quest for a record-setting eighth Leinster Senior Hurling remains on track.

Their 9-point win over Ollie Baker’s Kilmacud Crokes set up a Leinster decider with Kilcormac-Killoughey of Offaly.

Corofin secured a sixth Connacht Football title with a comfortable win over Ballintubber.

Reigning All Ireland champions, St. Vincent's reached another Leinster final with a 5-point defeat of Garrycastle.

Rhode will be their opponents on December 14th after they saw off Moorefield of Kildare.
