Cratloe were beaten by Kilmallock in a Munster Club Hurling Final that will be remembered for some time to come.
The full time score, after extra time, of Kilmallock 1-32 Cratloe 3-18 does nothing to reflect the true nature of the contest as both sides served up an amazing display of courage, steel and skill.
The Clare champions got off to a flyer as a Gearoid Considine goal after 10 minute saw them lead by 1-3 to 0-1.
From here Kilmallock took control of the rest of the half, and with Graeme Mulcahy and Bryan O'Sullivan to the fore, they led by 0-12 to 1-6 at the break.
The second half served up no fewer than 21 scores, including two Cratloe goals.
The first of those came from Cathal McInerney in the 47th minute, and it saw Cratloe take the lead by 2-10 to 0-15.
Just after this, Kilmallock were reduced to 14 men after Gavin O'Mahony was shown a straight red card for an off the ball incident involving Conor Ryan.
Cratloe maintained their one point advantage until Jake Mulcahy struck for a Kilmallock goal five minutes from time, which saw them go ahead by 1-18 to 2-13.
Joe McGraths side refused to wilt, and a Conor McGrath goal with just a minute left to play made it Cratloe 3-14 Kilmallock 1-19, a one point lead for Cratloe.
The Mulcahy brothers Jake and Graeme, who were immense throughout, both registered points for Kilmallock to put them a point ahead in injury time, but a last gasp long range effort from Martin Ogie Murphy brought the game to deadlock, with a full time score of Cratloe 3-15 Kilmallock 1-21.
The Limerick men excelled in the added period, and after the first ten minutes, they led by 1-27 to 3-18, a three point lead.
Cratloe failed to register a score in the final ten minutes, while Kilmallock hit five to ensure they would be crowned kings of Munster on full time score of Kilmallock 1-32 Cratloe 3-18.
