Cratloe and Kilmaley with work to do to make last 8 of championship

Defending county champions Cratloe have some work to do if they are to secure their place in the last 8 of the county senior hurling championship after a 1-13 each draw with Sixmilebridge last evening.

The south East clare men led 9-6 at half time but a late Niall Gilligan point from the sideline gave Sixmilebridge  a share of the spoils in Cusack Park.

Kilmaley will also have to dig out  a win in their next game if they are to make the last 8 having drawn their encounter with Clarecastle last evening in Cusack park.

A goal in the opening minute  gave the Magpies the early advantage but the sides ended 1-11 each despite Clarecastle hitting 18 wides during the course of the game.

Elsewhere St Josephs Doorabarefield beat Corofin by 4-17 to 11 points while Inagh Kilnamona edged a high scoring affair against Wolfe Tones emerging 3-13 to 3-19 winners
