County football final deferred until the 10th of October

Cooraclare Gaa club said now was the time to act if there was to be a change to the date of the county football final after the county board last night agreed to defer the match for a week.

The West Clare side proposed that the game be moved back a week to allow the winner of this week’s semi final sufficent rest ahead of the clash with Doonbeg.

Cooraclare face into their 4th successive weekend of action this Sunday when they take on Liscannor in Miltown in the county football semi final.

The decison was unopposed by either Doonbeg or Liscanor at last nights meeting which means the county football and hurling finals will be played in successive weeks next month.
