Clare’s GAA clubs have put plans in place to clear fixtures backlogs in the county’s Championships, in time for sides to take part in the Munster competitions.
At a special meeting of the county board last night, it was decided that round 2 of the Senior Hurling championship will be held on the weekend of October 6th, the week after the All Ireland Hurling Final replay, with round 3 on the 13th or the 20th, depending on football results.
Going forward, fixtures will be made on a game by game basis, in consultation with clubs.
Some may be held midweek under lights, and extra time will be played until there is a winner.
It was also decided by an overwhelming majority that only one team be relegated from the Clare Senior Hurling Championship, rather than five which had been the plan.
