County Board confirms purchase of land to aid capacity restoration at Cusack park

The Clare County Board is hoping the purchase of a plot of land at the rear of Cusack park will allow the an increase in capacity at the stadium.

The board  last evening confirmed the purchase of 1.8 acres behind the Cloister bar  to try and boost capacity at the stadium.
 
Delegates  at last night’s county board meeting were told the piece of land cost over 500k euro with hopes high that it can used as a new entrance point to the county grounds

The capacity of Cusack park was reduced in 2011 to twelve and a half thousand  on foot of the Slattery report

It’s hoped that the new land will allow for the construction of turnstiles and exits which will restore capacity to 18 thousand.
